Which are the differences between AV400 and AV500? I must decide soon for one chosen. I can buy AV400 to the same price of 30 AV500 Gb but I do not know the differences. Thanks

the 500 have a bigger screen & bigger resolution, and it's also usb host, so you can plug directly your camera or thumbdrive (or any ums peripheral)

AV500 is the new generation. Better screen, new design, 30Gb Hardrive, USb Host port...

Buy this one if they are at the same price!

I am Italian. But in Italy not there are forum for Archos and therefore the country more close is France. I must decide why I have 2 possibilities: - To buy a AV40O 100 Gb of 6 months for €.350; - To buy a new Archos AV500 30 Gb for €. 420 why the taxes 20% I can decurt. The difference is the 70 Gb and the characteristics that I do not know well.

If I were in the same case, I don't know which one I would get.
I suppose the 400 is more interesting considering the 100Gb

PS : what will be your use ? do you need recording ? some people buy AV series only for watching and no recording.
if you are in this case, you can consider the Gmini500, exactly same as AV500, but without recording, so you can get a gmini500 100Gb for the same price of a AV500 30Gb

the main function for me is to record from the tv or dvd and to see on the tv. I have seen also Cowon A2 but many persons say that the quality of recording from the tv or dvd or decoder is not good as Archos. Archos is better in this field with bitrate high. What do you thinks? Thanks
